There is uncompromising support for the expansion of medical cannabis on the Isle of Man. This widespread support has meant that the government has been motivated to improve access to medical cannabis on the Isle of Man.

With the Department of Enterprise consulting the public on a proposed update to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1976. The Government’s Department of Enterprise estimates that regulated production could result in £3m per year in revenue for the Isle of Man. The cultivation, importing, exporting and sale of cannabis is currently illegal on the Isle of Man.
The suggested law changes would enable businesses and investors to complete an application for a licence to ensure they can grow the cannabis plant, produce cannabis-based products derived from the plants they grow and use cannabis for research.
It is likely that a licence will cost in the region of £1,000 and £35,000 per annum and it will be dependent on which cannabis plant you decide to grow and the scale in which the cannabis is grown.
