CBD FAQs UK
CBD: an overview
CBD stands for Cannabidiol. It’s a chemical compound found in a type of cannabis plant (the hemp plant). Unlike pure cannabis though, CBD doesn’t contain THC, which is the mind-altering, psychoactive element that gets you “high”.
Some forms of CBD are classed as medicinal and are available on prescription from specialist doctors for certain conditions like severe epilepsy or severe vomiting caused by chemotherapy. Other CBD products are classed as food supplements – by law, these contain less than 0.2% THC – and they’re designed to contribute to overall health and wellbeing.
CBD food supplements are perfectly legal and safe to use in the UK. You can buy CBD products in all sorts of forms - oils, capsules, tablets, chocolate, coffee and more!
The benefits of CBD
An under-researched compound up until the last decade, CBD is now widely-recognised for its fascinating health benefits. A quick Google search will provide you with much information as to how CBD can change lives.
CBD is being used in many countries around the world to support and maintain good health. We recommend that you take time to research the benefits of CBD yourself and speak to your GP about how CBD can help you.
